Yesterday, we went to the park to fly this little kite Jason bought a few weeks ago. It wasn't very windy, so the kite didn't get much air. Either way, the park is nice. Today, Jason and Nathan went to the lake (Lake Somerville, if you wanted to know) with Grandma Linda. Andrew and I are flying solo and we're about to start our day with breakfast at my aunt's house. I kinda wanted to go the lake, but I've been feeling like crap lately. I had a terrible allergy attack on Friday and my throat was/is sore yesterday/today. I think I've caught a little cold. In the summer! oh well, I guess. I'm hoping my boys have fun out there.

p.s. Andrew is holding my popcam in that photo up there. I found a pack of film that I believe came in a grab bag of toys Nathan got at the thrift store. I didn't really read the package before I loaded it in the camera, but when I did, it says to "develop before 02/1992"....d'oh! I hope I get at least a few images off it. I always like the effect of expired polaroid film, but I've never used anything quite this old.

you can see my project 365 photos for day 85 & 86 on Flickr.

365.87: garage sale: saturday, we spent a few hours at a garage sale at grandma's workplace. after saying goodbye, we went to dinner and then to a nearby park that had some really sweet trees. nathan likes this park only because of the slide. he must have gone down 50 times! mostly head first and most of those times i winced because i kept thinking he would kick the kid behind him.
( + a lot. it's late and bbs are sleepin' )

if you need an andrew fix, here he is being totally drama-rific! He was pissed I set him down. he looked like this about 2 minutes later.

Jason is on a plane to Vegas right this very minute. :(

this one came out super noisy, because I set my ISO to auto to catch the action. the sun was setting, so it wasn't as bright as early on. ANYWAY, doesn't this make your mama-heart skip a beat? how are dads so confident?
we went to clear lake park, today. The day started off very sunny and kinda warm. The boys had one shorts and tshirts and I didn't even have to wear a sweater. By the time we arrived at the park, after stopping at a few thrift stores, it was quite windy and getting chilly! Nathan still wanted to play, of course, so I put Andrew's sweater on and we played until the sun started setting and the temperature dropped. ( on our way & there )
I got tagged by
zombiemommy1 the other day..
6 things I liked today:
1. Reading about low water immersion dyeing, then heading to Hobby Lobby to look for Procion MX dyes and not finding any. It's okay because I got to wear Andrew and I love that, so yep. Also, it just meant we had time to go out for lunch! We went to Murphy's Deli and I had the Club Supreme w/guacamole. yummo.
2. Making this for dessert:
Jason's mom got the recipe from her neighbor who found it in the newspaper a few weeks ago. They are sooo good for a semi-homemade recipe. I eat too many sweets. FOR REAL. Jason bought me an XL muffin tin the other day and it's already been used twice! one batch of muffin batter yields 6 ginormous muffins. Anyway, if you're interested in the Cherry Dream Squares, click on the photo to get the recipe on my Flickr.
3. Tweezin' my outtacontrol eyebrows while the boys napped.
4. Working on my latest WIP while my best FO swings in the background. A dodecahedron:
5. Finally catching an Andy-smile in photo!
6. Listening to the CD Jason bought me for Mother's Day, "Songs of the Siren: Irresistible Voices" and wondering why I haven't talked about in on LJ and why there aren't any pictures of the album online. He actually bought it for me ON Mother's Day when he went into Starbuck's. He said he was sure it's probably available online for me to [illegally] download, but that he wanted to buy it for me anyway. aww what a guy! it's a great mix of music. This song ("Siempre Me Quedara" by Bebe) gets stuck in my head alllll the time. It's weird because I'm not usually a big fan of latin music, but gosh I do like that one. Actually, I like ALL the songs on the album. Even the ones I don't understand. don't be surprised if you hear me singing in French..

i want some really sharp, almost gross, cheddar cheese. NOW.
I miss jason! he would totally stop by Spec's on his way home and get some for me. sigh.

my mom is having [outpatient] surgery, today. actually, she probably already had it...
she has (had?) carpal tunnel in both wrists and in one of them she had tendonitis that needed treatment. she had 2 steroid shots in the past few weeks that did NOTHING for it, so she opted for surgery ASAP. she wants to be able to carry the new baby when he comes, so it's best she gets this taken care of now. recovery is 3-6 weeks.
//
we (as in my whole family) spend a lot of time at my aunt Rosie's house. that's where I had my baby shower; where we threw Nate's first birthday; where we go just to play cards (my aunt doesn't even play!); where we head to when something is wrong. it's just a place we all....go. anyway, she finally replaced her kitchen table, which is usually the center of activity. It's a beautiful wooden table and I think she really needs some coasters. I made her a set of 6, using this tutorial.
her table is a dark brown and her walls are an off-white, almost yellowish color. I think the yellow I used it too bright to match completely, but I think she'll like the contrast.
